According the Vegan Society UK in 2017 the number of people identifying as vegan had risen by 350% compared to the decade prior. Similarly, the Coeliac Society report 1 in 100 people in the UK suffer from Coeliac disease; a disease for which there is currently no cure.
In the UK there are some alcohol manufacturers that voluntarily identify allergens in their products however, unlike the food industry there is currently no legislation to govern it.
This fact poses particular difficulties and confusion to Coeliac sufferers as well as to people following a plant-based lifestyle.
How can an informed choice be made relating to an alcohol option if the information from the manufacturer isn't readily available on the labelling?
Walker's Bar decided to eliminate the confusion by researching each and every one of its drink options so that its' customers are confident that their choices meets their requirements.
As members of the Coeliac Society and the Vegan Society we regularly check for industry updates to ensure that our advice and our suggestions are always accurate.
What does that mean for our customers?
It means that whatever the dietary requirement or alternative lifestyle there is always an option available across our complete range of drinks including; draught and bottled lager and ciders, wines, spirits and of course our fizz.
We always have to hand the current evidential information to satisfy any customer query.

We love to be able to match your theme; making a real impact at your event.
If you have a Pirate theme for your event or party we would 'dress' the bar (and staff!) in theme, discuss Caribbean themed cocktails to enhance the event and to add to the whole atmosphere you're looking to create.
At events such as Weddings, Engagements, Anniversaries we are more than happy to dress the bar for example with centrepiece-style arrangements and hanging flowers in your chosen colours and we can even recreate drinks that have a great meaning to the special couple ....
The options are only as limited as your, and our imagination!
Sustainable
Walker's Bar are committed to preserving our environment and for creating a sustainable future. We only use environmentally friendly, compostable 'glassware' that are made from 100% organic matter. Our napkins and straws are bio-degradable and of a non-plastic composition.
